Hatch Art

古代から人類にとって赤（Red）はシンボリックな色彩の一つであり、愛、情熱、傷、政治、宗教などのイメージを持つ強烈な個性を持つ存在として多くのアーティストに用いられてきた。

本展覧会は、国際的都市横浜で芸術表現としての「Red」を検証する試みである。象徴としての「Red」をそれぞれの作品を通して、他者であるオーディエンスとのコミュニケーションを試みることにより、本展においてアーティストから皆様へ時を超えて心に残る強烈な美しい贈り物となることを願う。

From the days of antiquity, Red is a color richly pregnant with symbolism――it has been used by artists to evoke love, passion, wound, and politics.

This exhibition held in the international city of Yokohama attempts to examine RED as a mode of artistic expression. We want to engage the audience in exploring the metaphoric potency of RED in each work. Thereby we hope that this exhibit serves as a gift to you from the artists
―leaving something lasting and beautiful.
